Eric Appelin, D.M.D.

Dr. Appelin received his DMD from Tufts University and completed a General Practice Residency at the Malcom Randal V.A. Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida.  Dr. Appelin went on to earn his Postdoctoral Certificate in Endodontics from New York University.

Dr. Appelin has proudly been serving the Central coast for the past fourteen years. He is proficient in all areas of Endodontics: including microsurgical technique as well as surgical tooth extraction, bone grafting and site preservation for implant restorations. Dr. Appelin is also CBCT Level one certified by the AAOMR. His knowledge and skills diagnosing and determining prognosis while utilizing 3D CBCT technology make him a valued asset when determining if your tooth should be saved or if alternative treatment is more appropriate. Click here to read more about saving your tooth.

Dr. Appelin remains at the forefront of procedures to retain the natural dentition and most recently has started to use the Gentlewave system for complex root canal treatments. Click here to learn more about Gentle wave.

Dr. Appelin prides himself on saving difficult to treat teeth but when appropriate, offers Dental Implants for situations that cannot be remedied with Root Therapy. Dr. Appelin completed an additional Fellowship with California Implant Institute in 2014. In 2015 he participated in the Level I and Level II surgical externships. Dr. Appelin also volunteered his time as a member of the faculty for the live surgical externship.

Dr. Appelin prides himself in constantly adding to his growing digital library of images and video taken from procedures and surgeries, he has performed. This HIPPA compliant collection has served as introduction for many dental students, specialty residents and general practitioners to the number of innovative surgical procedures performed in the specialty practice of Endodontics.
