Sharon Avant, DDS and Eric Carl Appelin, DMD

With 20 years of experience, Dr. Avant has established the premiere endodontic practice on the Monterey Peninsula.  Dr. Avant's expertise is recognized by her patients and  fellow dentists alike.

The office was the first in Monterey to equip all treatment rooms with dental microscopes for diagnostic and surgical procedures.  Dr. Avant is proud to be among the first dentists in California to replace conventional film x-rays with digital radiography. This advancement significantly reduces radiation exposure to patients as well as eliminates the hazardous byproducts of film developing.

In an effort to be environmentally friendly, Dr. Avant as converted to paperless record keeping and offers online patient registration.. 

Dr. Appelin received his DMD from Tufts University and completed a General Practice Residency at the Malcom Randal V.A. Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida.  Dr. Appelin went on to earn his Postdoctoral Certificate in Endodontics from New York University. 

He is currently Board Eligible, proficient in all areas of endodontics, microsurgical technique as well as extraction, bone grafting and site preservation for implant restorations.

Dr. Appelin constantly adds to his growing digital library of images and video all taken from procedures, including surgery, he has performed. This HIPPA compliant collection has helped many patients make informed decisions as well as introducing dental students, specialty residents and general practitioners to a number of surgical procedures completed in his practice.
